Clash Mark Through The C Of CENT


Obverse 28 is identified by date placement at C and date repunching that features an initial date impression to the south below the 0 of the date.  Obverse 28 has developed moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines and has acquired a clash mark in front of the eye of Miss Liberty from a clashing event with Reverse AB.

Reverse AB is in a similar die state as Obverse 28, with the advancement of moderately heavy to heavy die flow lines.  Reverse AB has acquired clash marks through the C of CENT and to the right of the denomination from a clashing event with Obverse 28.

Comments:  Variety 27 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during late July 2018 for inclusion in this book based on the date repunching of Obverse 28.
