Misplaced 9 in the Denticles |
Obverse 1 is identified by date placement at C and a misplaced 9 in the denticles below the primary 9 of the date.
Reverse A is perfect.
Comments: Proof
1 was one of two die pairings striking proof cents in 1904.
Although
not readily visible in the image above, the obverse 1 misplaced 9 is
visible in the denticles below the primary 9. The misplaced digit
attribution may later identify obverse 1 in service during business
strikes.
During early February 2016, this author contacted Aaron Berk of Harlen
J. Berk, LTD in regards to using his images to illustrate the 1904
proof 1 die pairing for this web-book.
