Obverse 8 is identified by minor repunching to the south within the
upper and lower loops of the 8 and upper loop of the 9, with date
placement at RE. Obverse 8 has developed moderately heavy die
flow lines and has acquired clash marks between feathers 5, 6, and 7
from a clashing event with reverse H.
Reverse
H is in a similar die state as obverse 8, with the advancement of
moderately heavy die flow lines. Reverse H has acquired two sets
of clash marks from a clashing event with obverse 8. Reverse H
has developed the following die crack:
1. Die crack connecting the middle and lower arrowheads.
Comments: Variety 6 was
initially identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate
for inclusion in this book based on the date repunching of obverse 8.
Examination of reverse H reveals two clashing events with obverse 8 at different degrees of working die rotation.
