Reverse AT Die Crack Mapping

Obverse 45 is observed with date placement located at right half of denticle.  Obverse 45 has cracked and has acquired clash marks from a clashing event with Reverse AT.

Reverse AT has cracked and has acquired clash marks from a clashing event with Obverse 45.

Comments:   Variety 40 is characterized by a lightly cracked Obverse 40 and a moderately cracked Reverse AT.

In regard to the die crack mapping of Variety 40, I suspect Obverse 45 features additional light die cracking on the left side along the tops of 'UNITED STATES', though the suspected die cracking was very light and I did not wish to include this on the Obverse 45 Die Crack Mapping in case I was mistaken.  Similarly, Reverse AT features additinal die cracking that extends around the lower wreath that was impossible to accurately include in the Reverse AT Die Crack Mapping.

Variety 40 was first identified by David Killough, who submitted the above plate coin during early July 2026 for inclusion in this book based on the die cracking of Obverse 45 and Reverse AT.
