Obverse 57 is observed with date placement at C and was struck with from misaligned working dies.
Reverse AAI develops a large retained cud between 1:30 and 4:00. Reverse AAI develops the following die cracks: 1. Die crack from the denticles at 9:30 into the wreath. 2. Heavy die crack from the rim at 10:30 down into the wreath.
Comments: The reverse AAI die break is retained, with the northern section residing at a lower depth within the working die.
In
regards to the die cracking within the left wreath, a definitive die
crack mapping was not possible due to the grade of the coin. The
die cracks extend downward to the olive leaves, though it is impossible
to determine their exact progression.
