Die Crack from Shield to Left Wreath

Obverse 44 is observed is with date placement at C and was struck from misaligned working dies.  Obverse 44 develops a substantial rim break on the right side and develops the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the denticles at 6:45 into the 186 of the date.
2.  Die crack from the rim at 6:45 throught the denticles and into the N of UNITED.
3.  Die crack from the bust point to the denticles at 7:15.

Reverse AV is rotated 6 degrees counter clockwise and was struck from misaligned working dies.  Reverse AV develops the following die cracks:
1.  Die crack from the rim at 12:00 into the right side of the shield and continuing into the right wreath.
2.  Die cracks from 1:15, 2:30 and 3:15 merge within the right wreath.  The section between 2:30 and 3:15 is presently a partial cud.
3.  Die Crack from the left side of the shield into the left wreath.

Comments:  Variety 46 was included in the web-book due to the heavy die cracking between 1:15 and 3:15 of reverse AV.  Reverse AV may be found in a later die state with the section between 2:30 and 3:15 becoming a retained cud, since this area now is a partial cud.

Variety 46 was first identified by this author during late February 2016.
